Thumbnail Specimens

Thumbnail specimens, the smallest of the collector size classes, generally under three centimetres across. Small size is no guide to quality, since crystals of this scale are often better formed and more complete than larger ones, and a thumbnail case holds a wide range in very little space. Aquamarine, topaz, tourmaline, tanzanite and rhodochrosite among others.
